The Beginning of Something Big

I've been rereading the books and I'm almost to the end of Living Dead in Dallas.....where I've discovered the beginning of Sookie's and Eric's relationship. I've always thought that there was something bigger brewing beneath the surface of their relationship(friendship or more). I have always thought it started in the book Club Dead but after rereading the portion of this book where they are talking about Sookie trusting Eric to protect her from anything unfortunate at the orgy, it's plain that for her to actually put her safety in his hands shows more than a trust, something much deeper and it's the beginning of their relationship.

Anyone else have anything thoughts on this?

I LOVE the sexual humor between Sookie and Eric... Like when the FoS shoot up the house and he throws himself on top of her... when she tried to wiggle out from under him he says "oh that feels good do it again" and she is just flabberghasted with his behavior.... that is until she sees the wound from the bullet he took for her.

Fast forward to him laying on top of her on the hood of the corvette...... nuzzling her.... they she makes the statement that Bill is her boyfriend.... and the voice from behind says "that's nice to hear" and poor sookie just wants to die right there.

So yes, I have to agree with you the relationship between Sookie and Eric really started in LDiD not in Club Dead it just really got started being fleshed out in CD....

Would just about everyone agree that Eric, so facinated by Sookie, doesn't really quite understand WHY his is so attracted to her and that just makes it that much more fun.

I know, once you get some of the revelations from the following books you can understand a little more as to WHY he is so facinated by her.... but if you are reading these for the first time.... you can't help just seeing all this back and forth between them as a sort of foreplay.

Either way I love it, but I secretly hope that she and Bill will get back together at some point.... because there just isn't anything like your first love.... Even though we find out later that he was sent to Bon Temps to seduce her I still think he surprised even himself and fell in love with her.

I believe that Eric was smitten with Sookie right from the begining but it didn't become apparent to him until LDID. And it begins to bug him in CD. Bill is always going to be in love with Sookie but I just don't think she will ever allow him back into her heart or her bed. Call it a hunch.

Now that I am at the middle of Dead to Worse.... the one I haven't read.... I hope she ends up with Eric "furever n ever" and Bill can go pound sand or dirt, his choice.

meh. i think i'd take him back. he HAD to seduce her, queen's orders. then, despite not wanting to, he fell in love with her. he still comforts her, he's always there for her...always showing up to protect her. i think it's clear that he loves her, and i think she still loves him. i understand what it's like to not be able to move on from being betrayed- and i'm actually a pretty unforgiving person irl (my attitude is basically that there are sooo many people out there, why bother going through rough spots with someone when you can just find someone else who is just like them or close enough to suit both of you)... but i still think i'd take bill back if i was in sookie's shoes. i don't know what it is- i guess i'm just retarded for bill.

(B) She is human, but she's not your average woman
(C) Eric has been around for so long, he wants to see what a strong human relationship would bring.

That and she is so accepting of things that are not quite the norm. Vamps don't feel uneasy around her and she doesn't feel uneasy around Supes. She is the bridge between the cultures.

It is also the fae blood!! dont forget!! But, I agree that Eric finds her the minute that she walks into fangstasia. Love at first site, though he would never admit it....the only time he has admitted it is when he had amnesia and then when he remembers that time....when he has been in her bedroom smelling her after the King of Nevada takeover....He knows. But he also knows that he can't crowd her. He has learned from Bill what not to do. I can't wait to see what happens next!!!!
