Hi, I'm a new member and I'm from Belgium.

I heard about the Sookie Stackhouse novels a while ago and I wanted to read the books. My library did not provide them, so I first bought an omnibus which contains the first 3 books.
It started out okay, but I was really interested after a couple of hundred pages. Some things annoyed me like hell, don't wanna be rude or anything.

Sookie Stackhouse is quite skanky. First there's Bill, she's involved in a weird way with Alcide, and then suddenly there's the new Eric. Maybe it's me, and I don't think of this as normal, or maybe she's just skanky. And then there are the erotic pages. My younger sister wanted to read the books, but I was just ashamed to give them because at certain points it went beyond what I think is normal. But normality is relative, of course.
It just annoyed me to death at some points to read bedroom secrets (to put it that way).

On the cover of the book there was this sentence 'Move over Bella! Sookie Stackhouse is here.' So I was like, okay this is good. I mean, I really really enjoyed the twilight series, I was almost addicted to them. Okay, not almost. I actually was addicted. I was ready to be addicted again. I have a weird love for vampires, so this was good. Especially because there were a lot of them. I found out it was not a good thing. Im at the third book and I actually skipped a couple of ten pages because I was kind of bored and even though I tried to focus and concentrate and just tried to read the pages but it did not work. And believe me (or not), Im not easily bored! So I was shocked myself.

It actually annoyed me too that there were a lot of magical creatures around. Twilight for instance was like a great book. I loved it! There were vampires and werewolves, and that was pretty much it. Which I liked, because it was focussed on just one 'race' of magical creatures. It was a light saga. Lighter than the Sookie stackhouse novels. It annoyed me that there were Werewitches with vampire blood, there were maenads, there were witches, shapeshifters, of course vampires and what not! I mean, it was just too much of it. My opinion. And then there was so much happening. I love action myself, but it was too much. First she had a tough night, then she's back home and goes through other tough things, then this, and than that. When I read twilight I just spoke good of the book. Okay, the first twilight book began a little late, okay new moon had just too much Jacob of it, Eclipse too, Breaking dawn was a little under my expectations, but I just adored the saga. When I think of the time I read them, I get a really good feeling. I was just happy to escape to them.

These series just annoyed me, book after book, but I still like them, in a weird way. They're okay, but Im actually regretting the fact I bought them. I shouldve rented them instead of pay money.

This was my unsalted opinion.
