We all know what drew Sookie to Bill and other vampires, but in your opinion what was it about Sookie that sparked Eric's attention?

I think it is her blood. All the vampires say Sookie smells sweet. Bill has asked her what she is severl times too. And because I have read the books I know what it is. But also even if Sookie doesn't think so, she is beautiful and she doesn't take any bull from any of them.![]()
I do too, I believe her blood is some of the draw, the rest is her tolerance of the supernatural. She see's herself as being different from everyone else so when she runs across someone else who is different for whatever reason, its easier for her to accept them. And its this acceptance that Vamps find refreshing.
Blood, first and foremost, from the first meeting I think he smelled her and she was different but he didn't know why yet. Once he knew about her telepathy then he wanted her for that, for power. Remember at their second meeting when she heard his thoughts, that he was thinking he could use her to do whatever he wanted whenever by threatening Bill or someone she loves, telepathy turned into the attraction then. After the Long Shadow incident Eric really noticed she smelled different and was practically hypnotized by her. Bill told her that drinking long shadows blood made her more desirable to the vamps and that Eric now lusts after her.
Overall it's Sookies blood, for all the vamps, but Eric wanted to use her power. 2 big turn ons for vamps!
Since I'm a diehard Sookie/Eric fan I just think in the end he truly loves her.
Okay as everyone has said before: sookie's blood no question... and I think they can smell her purity too.... that was evidenced by Diane's comment about smelling her virginity and virgins blood being the second best kind of blood to drink.
Bill: I think Bill longs for something human to attach himself to. He seems to be genuinely attacted to her but later we find out better of this (in the books) but at first it does seem like a Romeo and Juliette kinda thing...
Erik: He is intrigued by her and her "gift" it is as if he is almost intoxicated by her. Of course we find out much later that a lot of Sookie's "smell" has to do with the fact that she is part fairy.... but that is for later.... *lol*
What's great is Sookie has no preconceived notions about vampires and that HAS to be refreshing to them. She takes it as it comes... she likes people based on how they treat her not who or what rather they are or what they have to offer her. That is why when she is in Fangtasia for the first time she refers (in the series) to it as Disneyland... a place of wonder....

I love how she always says "I may not be book smart, but I am not stupid" and I think that says a lot about her... She has pretty good savvy about people in general... but then 99% of the people she knows she hears what they really think in their heads. So she knows where she stands with most everyone and she can either allow herself to be bitter about it or just move on with life.

I'm with y'all that her blood and her "gift" are attractive to Eric but I also think she is very different from what usually walks into Fangtasia. It's seems that the usual clientele are tourists and goth kids/fangbangers. Sookie clearly isn't a tourist since she is escorted by Bill and she isn't a typical gothy fangbanger with her white summer dress, shampoo commercial-worthy hair, and uber-perky smile.
Oh, hands down, it is Sookie's innocent, yet blunt nature that attracts the delectable Viking. Sure, he can most likely smell her virgin/fae blood, but his attention is first drawn to her audacity to march into his bar and demand answers about his fangbanger clientele. A big no-no, for sure.
As for Bill's attraction... Well, I think it was unexpected (as all you bookies know) and totally a vampire thing. After all, his actions throughout his whole relationship with Sookie (and later in the books) tend to be influence by the whole vampire territorial thing (and possibly the other thing that we find out in later books). But don't mind me - I might be biased. *winks* I'm a Eric/Sookie fanatic through and through.
I have only read the first book so far (just went and bought the next two in the series yesterday) and I think it is her innocence, strong will and her ability to read minds that makes her so attractive. She is human, but has a stronger perception than most humans. It makes her able to sympathize with someone that is not of the norm. I haven't read all the books though, so I am going off the first in the series...lol
